<p>Emulsifies Fat.</p>
<p>This is for all of you that have some excess fat to lose. According to Nutritionist Ann Louise Gittleman, Ph.D., C.N.S., Cranberry juice contains high levels of organic acids, which have an emulsifying effect upon fat deposits. She generally suggests it along with some flax seed or flax seed oil.</p>
<p>Urinary infections</p>
<p>When it comes to urinary tract infections caused by a strain of E coli bacteria, cranberry juice compounds may help. Some of the compounds in the juice block the bacteria from sticking to the cells in the body, so that the body can more easily flush the bacteria out.</p>
<p>Respiratory Infections</p>
<p>Study results in 2002 suggest that cranberry juice may inhibit a type of bacteria that is a common cause of ear and respiratory infections in children. This is according to researchers at the annual meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.</p>
<p>In this study it was found that cranberry juice can inhibit certain strains of Haemophilus influenzae, a type of bacteria found in the nose and throat of 75% of healthy children and adults. The bacteria can also cause infections, and may be responsible for up to 40% of bacterially-derived middle ear infections.</p>
<p>In this study, the researchers found that the juice could prevent certain strains of the bacteria from sticking to red blood cells or mouth cells, a step that can allow the bacteria to linger in the body. It seemed that the juice inhibited the bacteria&#8217;s pili, the hair-like structures that allow them to adhere to surfaces. The juice had no effect on strains of Haemophilus influenzae that lacked pili.</p>
<p>While the results took place in test tubes, this certainly would be something to keep in mind for children and adults who get throat and ear infections.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t over do the juice!</p>
<p>I do want to warn you that excessive consumption of juices. Drinking too much fruit juice can contribute to obesity, the development of cavities (dental caries), diarrhea, and other gastrointestinal problems, such as excessive gas, bloating and abdominal pain. Children especially, as their bodies are smaller for the amount of juice ingested.</p>
<p>Recipe</p>
<p>Consider this more of a medicinal drink than a beverage, and you will do fine. Probably a cup for an adult, and a half cup for a child twice a day, until symptoms abate.</p>
<p>1 tea bag of Green Tea or Chai Green Tea</p>
<p>(Chia green tea contains ginger, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and clove along with green tea)</p>
<p>2 cups unsweetened Cranberry Juice</p>
<p>Bring one pint of water to a rolling boil. Insert your tea bag and steep 3 to 6 minutes. Pour into a one quart container. Add two cups of unsweetened Cranberry Juice. Store in the refrigerator and use within three days.</p>
<p>You can drink this cold or warm it up and drink. If you have used regular green tea you can add a very small pinch of any of the spices mentioned above that is in the Chia tea, for more flavor.</p>

<p>I know, I know, we&#8217;ve all heard this one over and over again. But how many of us really drink enough water? I&#8217;m talking at least 10 8 ounce glasses of water a day, minimum. You should really try to take in a full gallon of water each day. Keep reading, and I&#8217;ll include a secret tip on a specific way to drink water that will increase the number of calories your body burns each day.</p>
<p>Why, you ask? Let me count the ways. First of all, our bodies are over 70% water. That should tell you something right there. And you all know that you can go much longer without food than you can without water.</p>
<p>The body needs a lot of water in order to maintain its daily functions efficiently. In addition, water helps to flush out harmful toxins, as well as prime the body for fat loss.</p>
<p>If your body isn&#8217;t getting enough water, it does everything it can to hold on to the water it does have. The problem with this, is the way it holds onto the water. You see, over 70% of your muscle is made up of water. It helps to give your muscles that full, pumped look (along with glycogen).</p>
<p>However, if your body is not taking in enough water, that water is used for other things, leaving you bloated. And the way to get rid of that excess water, believe it or not, is to take in enough water.</p>
<p>This will rid you of that excess water weigh that bloats you, and begin to help your body run more efficiently and priming it to begin dropping body fat.</p>
<p>Once you begin taking in enough water, your body starts dropping weight, possibly 4 or 5 pounds in the first week. Now, this is mostly water weight. However, doing so optimizes your bodily functions, allowing it to run more efficiently and start burning stored body fat for energy.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s another little trick you can use. Instead of just drinking water, begin drinking ice cold water. You see, there is a metabolic cost to eating. In other words, the digestion of food, as you&#8217;ll read about in the next tip, takes calories. Well, so does drinking ice cold water.</p>
<p>The body needs to heat up this water in order to be able to use it properly and doing so takes energy, i.e., calories. You can burn another 50 to 100 calories a day by drinking one half gallon to a gallon of ice cold water per day.</p>
<p>It doesn&#8217;t seem like much. However, in addition to all the other benefits of taking in enough water, by drinking ice cold water, you can drop almost a full pound of fat each month, or about 10 pounds per year.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Coenzyme Q10 (also known as ubiquinone, but most widely referred to as CoQ10) is a substance that can be found in every cell of the body, where it is used to produce the large amounts of energy needed for healthy cell growth, repair after damage, and maintenance.</p>
<p>CoQ10 also functions as a powerful antioxidant, which protects the cells and the entire body from damage caused by harmful molecules.</p>
<p>Not only does it help keep the cells of the body healthy and in good condition, CoQ10 helps to keep the entire body functioning by helping to supply necessary energy to hard working organs. CoQ10 functions as a sort of catalyst, jump starting energy production within cells. The body then uses the generated energy for a host of vital processes, including smooth and striated muscle contraction and digestion.</p>
<p>Scientists have also discovered that CoQ10 is found in especially high concentrations in organs that require a lot of energy, such as the heart. Without CoQ10, energy production and therefore organ function would screech to a halt.</p>
<p>Researchers first discovered and named Coenzyme Q10 in 1957 while they were examining how the cell produces energy. Almost fifty years later, scientists are still finding new and better uses for the important substance, and have begun to discover evidence that treating patients with CoQ10 supplements may actually assist in the prevention and treatment of such devastating illnesses as heart disease and cancer.</p>
<p>CoQ10 can help prevent heart disease by first using its antioxidant power to prevent cholesterol from being attacked by free radicals in the body, freeing up precious reserves of vitamin E for other uses by the body. In this way, the coenzyme has also been found to work in conjunction with vitamin E to prevent the damage to arteries caused by cholesterol that leads to heart disease.</p>

<p>Statin drugs, such as Lipitor, Zetia and Crestor, widely prescribed to assist patients with high cholesterol bring their levels back to a normal range, have been found in several studies to decrease the level of naturally produced CoQ10 and even deplete the amount held in reserve by the cells in case of emergencies.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Cascara Sagrada comes from the bark of the buckthorn tree. It stimulates your colon to produce stronger contraction than normal. When it does this, it can work on the most difficult and chronic cases of constipation.</p>
<p>It is one of the herbal constipation remedies with a strong laxative effect. It will be found in many herbal combinations that are mixed for constipation. Cascara has Chrysophanic acid, which stimulates your colon wall to produce peristaltic action. Cascara also contains a chemical called emodin, which controls the strong action of Chrysophonic acid thus producing a balanced laxative effect.</p>
<p>If you use cascara in a constipation remedy mixture, do not use this mixture for more than thirty days. After 30 days take a rest from it. Do not use Cascara in large amounts and for long periods since it can cause intestinal distress and become habit-forming. When you use it, you will see results in 1-2 days.</p>
<p>Cascara Sagrada also stimulates secretions from the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and stomach. These secretions give Cascara additional laxative effects.</p>
<p>Do not use Cascara Sagrada if you have irritable bowel syndrome, hemorrhoids, ulcers, colitis, or cohen&#8217;s disease. These conditions require a more soothing herbal treatment. Use Cascara for a limited time. It can become habit-forming and, if used for an extended time, it can increase the risk of colon cancer. Its use also causes you to lose potassium with each bowel movement.</p>
<p>If you have liver problems do not use cascara sagrada full strength. Use it in combination with other herbs. Cascara is known to put a strain on the liver.</p>
<p>You can take Cascara Sagrada as a single herb for constipation. As a single herb, it can cause cramping and nausea. However, I recommend you used it with other herbs. In an herbal combination, the combination can detoxify your colon, tonify your colon walls, cleanse the blood and produce other synergistic actions.</p>
<p>In Michael Murray, N.D., book called The Pill Book Guide to Natural Medicines, he talks about the drug interaction of cascara sagrada,</p>
<p>&quot;Cascara and other stimulant laxatives may decrease absorption of other drugs that pass through the gastrointestinal tract. If you are currently taking an oral medication, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before self-medicating with cascara. Cascara may potentiate the action of digoxin and other heart medications due to potassium depletion. The use of cascara with thiazide diuretics and corticosteroids may further decrease potassium levels.&quot;</p>
<p>Recommend dose for the cascara sagrada, as a single herb, is 350 ? 1000mg just before bedtime. It you have any cramping or discomfort from cascara, take it with your meals. Gradually increase the quantity, every day, until you get the action your need.</p>
<p>Use 1-4 cascara sagrada powder capsules a night, but do not use these capsules for more than 10 days. Start with 1 capsule a night and increase the amount each day until you get results you want.</p>
<p>For a laxative tea, use one teaspoon of cascara bark in 3 cups of boiling water for 20 minutes. Drink 1-2 cups of tea just before bedtime after it has cooled to room temperature.</p>
<p>Cascara Sagrada is a strong constipation remedy and will help you clean out your colon even if you have chronic constipation. Use it sparely and for a short time.</p>

<p>Working out with weights when trying to lose body fat has numerous important benefits. First, an intense weight training session burns calories during the actual workout.</p>
<p>Second, an extremely important benefit is that intense weight training elevates your metabolism for up to 39 hours after your actual workout. In other words, because of the intense weight workout, your metabolism has been stimulated where you are now burning more calories while you are doing nothing.</p>
<p>Carbohydrates power intense weight training sessions. The more intense the session, the more you deplete your arbohydrate stores and the more fat is burned during the recovery phase, i.e. after the workout.</p>
<p>In other words, as the intensity of the training increases there is a proportionate increase in fat burning after the workout.</p>
<p>One study showed that 15 exercise sessions per month (50 minute sessions at 50 percent of oxygen uptake) could lead to an extra 2 plus pounds per month of fat loss, strictly from the elevated metabolism and extra calories burned - while doing nothing! That&#8217;s an extra 26 pounds plus, of fat burned per year.</p>
<p>Another extremely important aspect of fat loss that occurs from training with weights is adding leas muscle to your body. Lean muscle is metabolically active, i.e., muscle burns calories even while doing nothing. So, the more lean muscle you have, the higher your resting metabolism and the more calories you burn each day while doing nothing.</p>
<p>Studies have estimated that for each pound of muscle that you add to your body, you burn another 25 to 50 calories per day while doing nothing. So, an extra 10 pounds of muscle may burn approximately 250 to 500 calories a day, or an extra pound of fat every 7 to 14 days, without making any other changes.</p>
<p>This is essential to taking off the fat and keeping it off. You see, when you add muscle to your body, you greatly increase the number of calories your burn each day. So, once you achieve your fat loss goals you can start eating more food without putting the fat back on, as long as you have built muscle (and keep it by continuing to train with weights)!</p>
<p>On the flip side, if you don&#8217;t train with weights while dieting and losing weight, two very bad things will occur. First, at least half of the weight you lose will be muscle. And this causes number two, which is that your metabolism gets slower, causing progress to eventually grind to a halt, leading to gaining all the weight back and more.</p>
<p>But now you are even worse off before because your body composition is worse than when you were previously at this weight. You replaced muscle with fat, so now your metabolism is even slower, making it easier to gain even more fat, and harder to take it off.</p>

<p>Omega-3 (you may sometimes see it written as n-3 or w-3) is the name given to a family of polyunsaturated fatty acids. The parent omega-3 - alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) - is described as &#8216;essential&#8217; as, like vitamins, it must be obtained from diet. It is polyunsaturated and has 18 carbon atoms and 3 double bonds (18:3). There is no doubt that the omega-3 fatty acids are essential to health.</p>
<p>They are fundamental molecules in the structure and activity of the membranes of all cells throughout the body. <p>It&#8217;s o.k. to apply this oil neat the same goes for lavender but I recommend if you have sensitive/reactive skin to always dilute them in a base product, either being oil or creams or apply on a q-tip to limit overuse. It is steam distilled from the leaves of the tea tree species (Melaleuca alternifolia). The highest quality of tea tree oil comes from Australia. Helps to soothe inflammation of the respiratory tract. Helps with asthma, bronchitis,coughs, sinusitis, throat infections you may use eucalyptus in a diffuser or vaporizer to help relieve congestion.</p>
<p>Abrasions &#038; Minor Cuts: Clean area well! Apply tea tree oil full strength to area.</p>
<p>Acne: Add 1-2 drops on a q-tip of tea tree oil and apply directly onto infected area once - twice a day until gone or add a few drops of tea tree oil to facial wash or cream, apply daily. Facial Mask add 2-4 drops to clay type mask.</p>
<p>After Shave Or Waxing: Add 1-2 drops of tea tree oil onto razor blade before shaving. Add A FEW DROPS of tea tree oil to 1 Tbs of aloe vera gel. Smooth over area.</p>
<p>Athletes Foot: Clean feet thoroughly, especially between toes. Add doluted tea tree oil directly to feet every week. Or add (6) drops of tea tree oil to ½ ounce of olive oil. Massage on feet and between toes.</p>
<p>Put a tissue with pure oil drops on it into your vacuum cleanser bag to freshen your rooms and kill dust mites as you vacuum such as tea tree, lavender, lemon, peppermint, lemongrass, cypress, Eucalyptus, Citronella, effectively repel many types of insects including mites, lice, and fleas. Peppermint placed on entry ways prevents ants from entering.</p>
<p>Household ants and others pests hate tea tree oil, so a few drops put at the point of entry will deter them. Similarly, when you wipe cupboards out with an oil and water solution, you will find that cockroaches will move out!</p>
<p>Cold Sores: Tea tree oil can reduce the painful healing time by as much as one half. Apply a few drops of tea tree oil directly to the infected area with cotton swab 2 times a day, to help prevent breakouts apply directly upon onset.</p>
<p>Mosquito Bites: Add (1-2) drops of tea tree oil directly to area of bite. Repeat every 2 hours or until swelling and itching disappears.</p>
<p>Mouth Ulcers: Dab ulcer with undiluted tea tree oil every two hours.</p>
<p>Muscle Aches: Add (12) drops of tea tree oil to 1 ounce of grapeseed oil. Massage well. You can also add (see dilution table) drops to bath water and soak.</p>
<p>Plantar Warts: Apply tea tree oil full strength to affected area 1-2 times daily until gone also a good idea to cover up with a bandage.</p>
<p>Toothbrush Cleaner: Apply tea tree oil directly to tooth 1-2 times a week to remove bacteria.</p>
<p>I recommend buying lavender oil or any essential oils from a reputable distributor, from your esthetician if available because many are of poor quality thus you won&#8217;t get the full benefit of the product!</p>

We may skip lunch or eat only a tiny amount of our dinner in the hope that if we eat less our body will burn off some of its fat. But that is not necessarily true. Eating less actually makes it more difficult to lose weight.</p>
<p>Keep in mind that the human body took shape millions of years ago, and at that time there were diets. The only low-calorie event in people&#8217;s lives was starvation. Those who could cope with a temporary lack of food were the ones who survived. Our bodies, therefore, ahve developed this built-in mechanism to help us survive in the face of low food intake.</p>
<p>When researchers compare overweight and thin people, they find that they ear roughly the same number of calories. What makes overweight people different is the amount of fat that they eat. Thin people tend to eat less fat and more complex carbohydrates.</p>
<p>Losing weight is not something one can do overnight. A carefully planned weight loss program requires common sense and certain guidelines. Unfortunately, there&#8217;s a lot of misinformantion floating around and lots of desperate people are easily duped and ripped off.</p>
<p>Every day one can open a magazine or newspaper and see advertisements touting some new product, pill or patch that will take excess weight off quickly. Everyone seems to be looking for that &#8220;magic&#8221; weight loss pill. Millions of Americans are trying to lose weight, spending billions of dollars every year on diet programs and products. Often they do lose some weight. But, if you check with the same people five years later, you will find that nearly all have regained whatever weight they lost.</p>
<p>A survey was done recently to try and determine if any commercial diet program could prove long-term success. Not a single program could do so. So rampant has the so-called diet industry become with new products and false claims that the FDA has now stepped in and started clamping down.</p>
<p>Being seriously overweight and particularly obesity can develop into a number of diseases and serious health problems, and it is now a known fact that when caloric intake is excessive, some of the excess frequently is saturated fat.</p>
<p>The myth is that people get heavy by eating too many calories. Calories are a consideration it&#8217;s true, but overall they are not the cause of obesity in America today. Americans actually take in fewer calories each day than they did at the beginning of the century. If calories alone were the reason we become overweight, we should all be thin. But we are not. Collectively, we are heavier than ever. Partly, it is because we are more sedentary now. But equally, as important is the fact that the fat content of the American diet has changed dramatically.</p>
<p>People who diet without exercising often get fatter with time. Although your weight may initially drop while dieting, such weight loss consists mostly of water and muscle. When the weight returns, it comes back as fat. To avoid getting fatter over time, increase your metabolism by exercising regularly.</p>
<p>Select an exercise routine that you are comfortable with and remember that walking is one of the best and easiest exercises for strengthening your bones, controlling your weight and toning your muscles.</p>

<p>Tiger Woods was asked, &#8220;How do you feel about your competition?&#8221; Tiger replied, &#8220;My competition comes not from other people, but from the golf course in my mind.&#8221; Personally, my workouts are not gauged on how much I can lift that day or how fast I can run a mile. My workouts are all about efficiency. If I can accomplish my goals in half the time, doing half the routines, you&#8217;re darn right I am going to do it.</p>
<p>In my experience, less is always more.</p>
<p>WISDOM IS MORE POWERFUL THAN WEIGHT</p>
<p>One of the best attitudes you can have in order to keep your workouts going is to never be afraid to ask for help. Early on, I realized I needed assistance. If you want to reach a goal, find someone who has met your challenge and get advice from him or her.</p>

<p>CONSISTENCY</p>
<p>If I had to narrow the magic down to one word for getting results, it would be consistency. If you learn nothing else, learn this principle. Results are about being consistent.</p>
<p>VARIETY</p>
<p>Your body is a smart, adaptive machine. On occasion, throw a little change in the mix.</p>
<p>EFFICIENCY</p>
<p>If you work smarter rather than harder, develop a &#8220;less is more&#8221; attitude and watch the results follow.</p>
<p>DISCIPLINES</p>
<p>There&#8217;s no getting around it. Exercise takes discipline; it takes courage. Anything you have ever done in life has taken hard work, perseverance, and willingness to get in the trenches. You want to feel better, so be willing to pay the price. If not, you will pay a dear price very soon and it won&#8217;t just be monetary.</p>
<p>BELIEFS</p>
<p>HOPE</p>
<p>All it takes to get started is a small amount of hope-hope that you can feel better, maybe lose a little weight, lower your blood pressure and stress levels, and at the end to the day feel happier, inside and out. You get hope and then you&#8217;re on your way!</p>
<p>FAITH</p>
<p>Sometimes it takes faith from others to get us started. Some times it may even take an act of desperation from us, but believing that it is possible to feel better gives us motivation to start or continue on.</p>
<p>DESIRE</p>
<p>Desire comes from within. It motivates us when we really want to be in denial, make excuses or quit. True desire starts in your heart.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s time you quit making excuses, quit feeling sorry for yourself, and quit sitting on your biggest asset.</p>
